The Author Jack Foreigner on "[Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] Prevent Date from Showing in Search Results Snippet"

Is there a way to prevent the blog post's date from appearing in Google's search results??

If not, how come Yoast's SEO plugin doesn't automatically account for the lost space (in terms of characters displayed)?
