YOAST plugin breaks my permalinks when updating or modifying plugin settings

Hi,

Since a while (more than 1 year) I experienced the following:
When changing any setting in Yoast SEO plugin or updating the plugin the permalinks are showing an archive page with no content and just some standard info that the page cannot be found. This is repaired when I save the permalinks (once or twice). So, I let the site update manually to monitor this problem and check if the menu items do arrive on the correct page(s). This only happens with the Yoast SEO plugin.

I have deactivated all plugins and only activated Yoast SEO, problem remains same.

Is there ay suggestion how to repair this?
