I updated to WordPress 5.9 and two of my plugins think that my WordPress is outdated even though it isn’t.
The two plugins are WordPress Payments & Grow Social by Mediavine. There are 4 red errors appearing in my admin Dashboard that say:
- Grow Social by Mediavine requires WordPress 5.2 or higher. This site is running WordPress . Please update WordPress to activate Grow Social by Mediavine.
- Starting January 2021, WordPress 5.2 will be required for all functionality, however keeping WordPress up-to-date at the latest version is still recommended. To maintain future compatibility with Grow Social by Mediavine, please update WordPress.
Learn about updating WordPress - Grow Social by Mediavine has been deactivated.
- WooCommerce Payments
WooCommerce Payments requires WordPress 5.6 or greater (you are using ). Update WordPress
After a week went by waiting on new updates, WordPress Payments was finally updated but my issue wasn’t fixed nor could I find any complaints online where anyone else was having that problem.
Finally I decided to deactivate all of my plugins and reenable them one by one and turns out Yoast SEO(arguably my most important plugin) is the one causing this to happen. When I deactivated it, the errors disappeared.
Why is this happening? Please help! I need people to be able to make payments on my shop and share my site on social media.
