@tculkin. I am having sort of the same problem. The sitemap_index.xml on my website returns a 404 as well. I am guessing there is some conflict going on with other plugins (currently resolving conflict with two that I know of). Is there any known list of plugins Wordpress SEO is conflicting with? Any other suggestions on get the XML Sitemap function working again directly from the plugin?
