Dan Plebz on "[Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] Featured Image not counted as an SEO advantage?"

Hi,

Is it right that this plugin doesn't consider a featured image as a plus mark for SEO? or rather that it doesn't recognise the featured image during post editing.

Does that mean that with the featured image only on a post, that I have created a negative point towards SEO score?
