I went in via FTP and renamed the wordpress-seo plugin and my site is now working but it's a temporary fix until I know for certain that it is the PHP version breaking the plugin.

Sorry about this people... If you don't have PHP 5.3, rest assured we'll fix this by tomorrow, for now, please roll back to 1.4.7, by deleting the entire plugin through FTP and reinstalling.

DoctorMicro: most hosts are running 5.2, which is the min requirement for WP. If you have 5.3, the update will actually work flawlessly. You can just use 1.4.7, the stable version, that works fine.

Just a note: you may have to delete the plugin using FTP, etc. To be able to load version 1.4.7, which may show is loaded or that version 1.4.8 is loaded already.

@berenerchamion it wasn't an intended change. We're fixing it all back so the next version will work on PHP 5.2 without issue.
