Sitemap not generating – 404 Error : Now you are the my only hope

Hi,

I have successfully installed and used your plugin but I am unable to generate sitemap.xml or sitemap_index.xml.

I have tried almost all the options available on Google like:

1. Reset permalinks

2. added the rewrite rules to htaccess file as describe in http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-fix-yoasts-wordpress-seo-sitemap-404-error/

My .htaccess code is :

Now you are the my only hope for getting solution of my problem…

BackupBuddy error – WP_SEO_404_links

Having problems with BackupBuddy all of a sudden, and it’s referencing XXXXX_WP_SEO_404_links as being the table that is causing problems.

I don’t actually see anything in this table in PHPMyAdmin however.

Any ideas?

Set main category for woocommerce

Hello,

I have installed yoast seo to be able to set a category as ” main category”. In my store I have many categories for each item, but only one is relevant/logi for the customer. Other categories are more specificity that allows customers to filter.

So I set my main category but nothing change in the shop the category shows in the breadcrumb is not related with the one selected.

Yoast – google index error

I’m in the process of checking my if my pages have been indexed by Google. They seem not to be indexed. When I use Yoast to set-up the SEO/Google robot and check my sitemap, this error come up: http://no92.dk/sitemap.xml

What am I doing wrong?

Using short description for meta description

Thanks for a great plugin!
As our product page mainly consists of specifications we would like to use the short description instead. From what I’ve read this is something you’re working on for the premium version. I can’t find any information about whatever this has been fixed or not. Is it still in development or has it been fixed? Could it be solved any other way?

Meta box is broken in edit page

The plugin is trying to load js and css files like whatever470.min.js and whatever470.min.css but the files provided with the plugin have 471.min.js 471.min.css, so naturally the styling and functionality of the metabox depends on files that are giving 404s

So the metabox isn’t rendering right. A lot of functionality is broken.

using seo on a custom page

hi, I have opted for a WP theme called Bluestreet, my issue is that whilst all of my subpages are at /wp-admin I edit my homepage in wp-admin/customize.php the bar is limited to editing… Within wp-admin I have added Yoast in but I cannot edit my homepage in this section. Can any shed any light on what I am doing wrong!! cheers, john

Hi

I am using yoast SEO plugin in my website and generate the sitemap but while accessing sitemap_index.xml i am getting error.

This page contains the following errors:

error on line 5 at column 6: XML declaration allowed only at the start of the document
Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error.

Please help me to solve the problem.

Sitemap for Statically Hosted Site

Hi there,

I’ve used Yoast SEO to add a XML sitemap to my site. Our live site is statically hosted. Therefore, I only have access to the WordPress of our development site.

When looking at the sitemap, the URLs all contain the address of the development site. Will these URLs change once I pushed to the live static site to correspond to the site website’s URL?

If not, is there anything I can do in WordPress to ensure they do?

I’ve used Yoast SEO to add a XML sitemap to my site. Our live site is statically hosted. Therefore, I only have access to the WordPress of our development site.

When looking at the sitemap, the URLs all contain the address of the development site. Will these URLs change once I pushed to the live static site to correspond to the site website’s URL?

If not, is there anything I can do in WordPress to ensure they do?

Yoast SEO – seperate mobile version of thesame website

Short intro:

My client requested separate mobile version of his website.
I have two separate WP installations, on two separate domains like:

Standard: example.com
and mobile version: m.example.com

I will use mobile redirect plugin that will detect mobile devices and redirect to corresponding mobile version of the same page / post.

Based on google documentation I need to setup rel=”alternate” / rel=”canonical”

– On the mobile page, I need to add link rel=”canonical” tag pointing to the corresponding desktop URL

– On the desktop page, add link rel=”alternate” tag pointing to the corresponding mobile URL.

Question:

In YOAST I can see option to add rel=”canonical” but hove can I add rel=”alternate” on desktop site?

Also is there anything else that I should be aware of in terms of SEO for two separate sites with the same content?

Thank you in advance for any help, as it is a very new topic for me.

Conflict with WooCommerce product list

Hello,

When I activate in my WordPress+WooCommerce installation, the product list is not displayed properly: some columns width is reduced to 0, so the colum is not readable anymore.

I have deactivated all plugins but WooCommerce and YOAST SEO … and I still have the same problem.
When I deactivate YOAST SEO the product list is readable again.

Any ideas on how to fix that ?

Yoast hello:

Yoast SEO Version 4.7.1
WordPress 4.7.4 running Twenty Seventeen theme.

My site here

Upon submitting my YOAST sitemap to Google Console, I received warning

Sitemap contains urls which are blocked by robots.txt

I google-fetched my sitemap – nothing blocked.

Just to be sure, I created a manual new robots.txt in my wordpress root dir with only:
User-agent: *

Upon inspecting source on all my posts (woocommerce) – I see on all pages:

<meta name=”robots” content=”noodp”/>

Shouldn’t I be seeing?
name=”robots” content=”index, follow

I have checked all Yoast/Wordpress settings 100+ times! All looks OK.

Plugin does not generate attachment pages in sitemap

I have Media (attachment) set to be in the xml sitemap, but none appear in the generated xml http://www.artobatours.com/page-sitemap.xml.

Also, for three out of the five pages listed, the xml says 0 images, but they all have at least one image, and the home page has three but is listed as two: does the xml not recognise the header image as an image?

og:title & description not working

hi

I am finding that the og:title and og:description are not showing in Facebook correctly. I just ran the Facebook object debugger and it shows the correct title and description, yet the Sharing Debugger shows the title and description as different and incorrect.

URL is http://feastthailand.com/eat-like-a-local/ though it is the same on pretty much all pages, whereby it just puts the page title and not sitename and the description is always the same, just our advertising slogan.

I am using Cornerstone. I looked to see if it is generating any og information, but could not spot any.

Any suggestions?

I have javascript that is fired based on body class, and plugin just strips everything and it looks like it’s not done with a body_class filter but with Javascript instead

Ideal numbers of URLs in XML Sitemap?

Hello, I’m using Yoast SEO for WordPress. Today I have added almost 35k URLs in my WP.
What is ideal numbers of URL should I put in each sitemap? Yoast SEO default set to 1000 URLs. Should I change it to something large, like 2000 or 4000?
If Yes, what is the ideal number, so Googlebots won’t have any problems when crawling my website?
