og:image often doesn’t appear until post updated

Can’t explain this one as it doesn’t always happen but we find that sometimes we’ll publish an article with a featured image. This works perfectly on the site with the featured image appearing where it should.

But upon pushing this article to social media, we find that the card on Facebook and/or Twitter doesn’t show the featured image.

Looking at the scraped data from Facebook, I can see that when this happens, there is no og:image tag in the data.

If we update the post straight after posting, then this usually prevents the issue from happening.

Is there something we can do to debug what might be causing this?

Main/long description Woocommerce

I know it has been ask a lot of times before but is it nowadays possible to use the main/long description for woocommerce products as meta description?

On your website i also see the folowing

%%wc_shortdesc%% Replaced with the short description of the product. (Available as of Yoast WooCommerce SEO 6.2)

However when i fill in %%wc_shortdesc%% or %%wc_longdesc%% in the products meta description (admin.php?page=wpseo_titles#top#post-types) it will not work. If i look at the sourche of a product it will have no description at all.

Change homepage canonical URL

I added Cloudflare to my site few days ago so all my URL were redirected to www. I noticed that my homepage canonical URL is without www (you can check that using View page source). Is that any way to change that manually? Thank you

Problems after updating the plugin

Good day,
I noticed that after updating the plugin in 1-2 hours the photo in the snippet disappears in the Google mobile search.
The image is restored within 2-4 days (depending on the number of views).
What can you advise?

No OG info when sharing on Facebook

Hi there.

When we make new posts on Boosted.dk, then there suddenly are no OG info in the links when sharing on Facebook. When trying to debug, then nothing is there – just name of the site. No description or images. See below.

After this error occured this morning, I updated all plugins and WP – and I installed fresh premium Yoast SEO plugin. Please help! What could be wrong?

Incorrect canonical link

I recently changed my site’s domain name but Yoast continues to show the old domain in rel canonical URL of every post on the site. I had to disable the Yoast plugin to let WordPress serve the correct canonical link, but I do want the Yoast plugin back.

I have already tried deactivating and reinstalling the plugin but that didn’t help. Is there any way to force yoast to use the new domain in canonical URL.

I optimized my home page titles and description it looks perfect, but on google search, it looks different, text looks with spaces between letters? and text is not how I type it.

annoying link options

Hi,

how to disable link options (nofolow, sponsored flags when adding links) in the context menu which came with the latest Youst release? The context menu became too large for narowed notebooks. It really bothers. I use another plugin to automaticaly add nofolow flag for external links, so I don’t need it in Youst.

Console Warning in WP BackEnd concerning Yoast plugin

I’ve been noticing in the browser console that whenever I go to the WordPress Dashboard on the admin page or backend, I always see this warning:

The resource https://yoast.com/app/themes/yoast-theme/fonts/FontAwesome.woff2 was preloaded using link preload but not used within a few seconds from the window’s load event. Please make sure it has an appropriate as value and it is preloaded intentionally.

I’ve been noticing this for quite a while and I suspect it started popping up on one of the updates and/or on a wordpress core update (can’t be totally sure).

But do you guys know what this means and whether there is something about the plugin that needs to be addressed?

I installed Yoast SEO 14.4.1, the Start processing and speed up your site now doesn’t disappear. I installed Yoast Test Helper ans reset ‘Reset Indexables tables & migrations’ but still have the same problem.

Google search results of all pages different from meta description

Google search results of my website are different from meta description I written in the Yoast SEO plugin. All results show a generic description. Link of image and my website provided.

The search results persist for around 4 weeks now since I updated the meta description.

How do I fix this? Thanks

Hello! On my website is instaled YoastSeo. I have an issues with <title>, it doestn’t display on page, but somehow description is. Before Yoast was instaled All in One SeoPack but now it is delted. If anybody have ever run in to it please give some advice. Tank’s in advance.

Share link Issue Image in preview

Hi,
when i active Yoast Plugin and i want share a link (one of the articles) i see in preview a different image of another article and i can’t see the right image that i insert in the article.
Why?

For example you can open this link : http://notizie.csanapoli.it/2020/06/26/circolare-performance-2018-chiarimenti/
and see the image of article. If you share this article on facebook or whatsapp i see another image! (The image that appear is an image of another article in the blog).

Can you help me?

wpseo_opengraph is deprecated since version 14.0

Hi,

The following notice has been appearing on my site when my Yoast SEO plugin is activated:

Deprecated: class-opengraph-image.php is deprecated since version WPSEO 14.0 with no alternative available. in /home/const522/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4913

I gather from elsewhere in the forum that the problem is related to certain plugins. However, I’m not using any of the plugins cited. My site is up to date, including Yoast SEO 14.4.1.

I’m not a coder, but I can find my way around public_html via cPanel….

Any help appreciated.

v14.4.1 kills “core/link” in allowedFormat

Yoast added new link options in 14.4.1, but now ‘core/link’ in allowedFormat no longer shows for RichText.

When you code a block, you can allow a RichText to have only a bold and link option, like so:

<RichText allowedFormats={ [ 'core/bold', 'core/link' ] }

But ‘core/link’ now stops showing when Yoast is on. I’ve already turned off all other plugins. Only Yoast causes this problem.

It’s not possible to turn off the new link option, is it? Personally I would make an option that affects blocks outside your own plugin to be optional. Anyhow, I hope this issue can be solved quickly.
